074: My Favourite Street Photographs of 2025

It feels good to be back here again, sifting through the year's work and pulling together what I think are my favourites from 2025.
2025 was the year I finally got back into a rhythm. Since the pandemic lockdowns disrupted everything, I'd been struggling to get out as consistently as I wanted to. But this past year? I walked the streets more than I have in years. No grand plans, no forced projects—just me, the camera, and the city revealing itself one frame at a time.
What surprised me most was the variety. Looking back through the archives, there's a bit of everything here: cultural festivals and lion dances, quiet market mornings, the chaos of photowalks, those perfect moments of light cutting through afternoon heat. Some were planned outings, others were just happy accidents on the way to somewhere else. That's the thing about street photography—you can't force it. You just have to show up, stay alert, and hope the world cooperates. Not all of the photos below are my best of the best in the grand scheme of things, but they all tell a story from the streets. I am happy i took them, and thats all that matters.
I managed to post more consistently this year too, the most blog posts in one calander year. Documenting everything from traditional celebrations to the mundane beauty of everyday Kuala Lumpur. Each post reminded me why I do this in the first place: not for perfection, but for that fleeting moment when everything aligns—subject, light, composition—and you know you've captured something worth keeping.
So here they are: the photos that stood out, the ones that made me stop scrolling through my Lightroom catalog and think, "Yes, that's it." Some are quiet observations, others are more dynamic. All of them represent moments I'm glad I was there to witness. Not all exaclty the way I see myself doign street photography, but shots that was happy I got to take.
Looking ahead to 2026, I'm cautiously optimistic. If this year taught me anything, it's that consistency matters more than grand ambitions. Just keep walking, keep looking, keep pressing the shutter. The rest takes care of itself.
Here's hoping the streets continue to offer up their stories, and that I'm ready when they do.
Thanks as always to everyone who stops by, looks at these images, and takes a moment to engage with this ongoing visual diary of mine. Your presence here means more than you know.
Cheers to what was, and to what's coming.
Have a great 2026!
