Hi, I’m Amir.

I’m a photographer in Kuala Lumpur, mostly shooting street, travel, and documentary work. This site is my personal archive: part visual diary, part ongoing study of the everyday, and part excuse to justify how many photos live on my hard drive.

What I really love is watching. How people move through a city, how light slices across a boring wall and suddenly makes it interesting, how the smallest, most forgettable moments end up saying the most. I’m drawn to that spot between stillness and motion, where a photo doesn’t shout at you but quietly hangs around.

I shoot on instinct. Sometimes I have a plan. More often I’m just walking with no destination, camera in hand, hoping something interesting happens (it usually does, right after I’ve put the lens cap back on). The camera’s been my near-constant companion for years, not as a badge of identity, but as a way to pause time for a split second.

Whether it’s the streets of KL, a market somewhere far from home, or a stolen moment during a family holiday while everyone else is asking “are we done yet?”, the goal is the same: to capture what it felt like to be there.

None of this is about chasing trends or pleasing algorithms. I’m just building a body of work that shows how I see the world: imperfect, fleeting, occasionally funny, and always a little more complicated than it looks.
