#043: Pixel 3a went to Port Dickson

A few weekends ago I went out to Port Dickon with the family for a short getaway. A quick drive from KL and we were at my childhood beachside holiday destination. It was nice to get out of the city, and the beaches of Port Dickson was a great break from it all.

It was surprisingly quiet around the usually packed public beaches and their surroundings. The covid situation is still keeping a lot of people away from public spaces, which is a good thing.

I decided to not take my cameras with me this trip and just use the trusty Google Pixel 3A throughout the short stay. It has given me some great photos in the past; just having it on me all the time allows me to forget about all the other camera related stuff, and just take photos for fun.

I've done a few photo series solely on my mobile phone, and with the ageing cameras and prices going up for new cameras, I may end up doing more with just my mobile in the near future. Mobile phone photography is coming along by leaps and bounds too, and with computational photography and what Google is doing with the algorithms, taking photos with our mobile is more than enough for almost everyone. I've seen proper editorial and news journalism all done with mobile phones and you probably couldn't tell the difference. So what more would I need for just a nice family holiday?

I usually edit photos on the Snapseed app, but for this selection of photos, I wanted to see what quality I would get doing it on the PC. So, here are some shots from the trip, all taken on the Pixel 3A and edited in Lightroom.

Cheers.
